🇬🇧 Early 13th-Century Masters: Paris and Oxford
The Comission´s research focuses in historical-philosophical and linguistic examination of the Summae and other writings of the masters of Paris and Oxford who, during the first half of XIII Century, have accomplished a labour of reconsideration and resignification of sources of diverse origin. In this sense, there is a particular interest in the inquiry about analysis of Aristotelian works that had been matter of speculation for the first masters of Paris and Oxford, with a syncretic reading of other sources already known at that time of patristic and hellenistic-roman origin. The Commission presents as a central matter the reconsideration of developments of the mentioned masters in the fields of speculative and practical-moral philosophy and political theory; so, the Commission proposes the figures of William of Auxerre, the Chancellor Philip, Alexander of Hales and Robert Grosseteste.This task will try to consider the philosophical contribution of the first half of XIII Century to the second part of the same century.
🇪🇸 Maestros de la primera mitad del siglo XIII: París y Oxford
La temática de investigación de la Comisión se centra en el examen histórico-filosófico y lingüístico de las Summae y otros escritos de los maestros de París y de Oxford que, durante la primera mitad del siglo XIII, realizaron una labor de relectura y resignificación de fuentes de procedencia diversa. En este sentido, tiene particular interés indagar el análisis de las obras de Aristóteles en las que los primeros maestros de París y de Oxford concentraron su especulación, bajo una lectura sincrética con otras fuentes ya conocidas de procedencia patrística y helenístico-romana. La Comisión presenta como cuestión central la revisión de desarrollos de los maestros mencionados en materias de filosofía especulativa, práctico-moral y de teoría política, y propone las figuras de: Guillermo de Auxerre, Felipe Canciller, Alejandro de Hales, Roberto Grosseteste. Esta labor buscará considerar las aportaciones filosóficas de la primera mitad del siglo XIII, a la segunda parte del siglo que se nutrió de ellas.
